Our Whirlpool Duet Dryer Model no. GEW9200LW2 was Squeaking loudly and sometimes also sounded like it was full of sneakers banging around. We purchased the dryer kit to try to repair it ourselves to save money. The parts arrived in loose in a bag as shown in the picture of the order. Rather than read the paperwork, we went straight to the video on their website and brought a laptop down next to the dryer to watch it. My son and I started the video and followed the steps. For each step, we put the removed screws / parts in a ziplock back and labeled them 1 through 7 so we had the parts to reverse the steps to put the dryer back together. Suggestions - With Black Marker mark the holes the screws were in so it is easier to replace them in the correct spots. We also labeled the interior parts of the dryer on the inside with the same number. We followed the steps and had the dryer apart quickly. Mark the Front of the drum so you can put it back the same way it came out. On our dryer, one of the old rear rollers was broken, the tension roller (white part) was not spinning, and the belt was fraying. Also when putting the belt on, the red side faces up (black side with grooves down). This can be done with one person although it is much easier with two people. My son and I did the repair replacing all of the rollers, tension roller, and belt in about two hours, put the dryer back together, laughed a lot, and the dryer is now working again. The hardest part was putting those darn triangular plastic pieces on. For tools, we used nut drivers and a small flat head screwdriver to help undo some of the connections. The video is Very Helpful. I was concerned about removing the large drum and putting it back in but that was not very difficult. The repair is not terribly complicated but again much easier with two people. It was also interesting to learn how to take a dryer apart and put it back together again. So far, dryer is working properly.
