After calling a repair service they diagnosed the problem and said I needed a the MCU replaced. It would cost $400 for them to do it.
I found this site and ordered the MCU. It arrived in 3-4 days. After watching a You-tube video on how to do the repair, I was all set to start, BUT it turns out the 2 videos I found showed a version of the DUET where the MCU was in the FRONT and accessed via a lower access panel. My washer did have this access panel on the front. I eventually found a video that showed the repair from the BACK panel and was able to do the repair in about 30 minutes. Success!!!
