Enoch S Arlington , TN August 23, 2021 Appliance: Frigidaire Freezer LFFU14F5HWS Frost inside Frigidaire upright freezer lffu14f5hws. I have used this freezer for ~ 10 years with no problems. We have noticed that frost started forming inside the freezer, so after research, the first step was to replace the gasket around the door. I ordered the part and replaced it, which took about 45 minutes. To replace, I would recommend unscrewing the screws around the existing gasket BUT DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREWS as that will take extra work. Just unscrew, and make sure the old gasket comes out of the track easily. To re-install, attach the new gasket behind the lip of the frame, started along the top and then on each side. I would screw in a few screws to keep the gasket from coming out. The bottom gasket took the longest, due to the location under the door. Once the gasket is installed, make sure that it is secured under the lip correctly, and screw in all screws. After installing the new gasket, I closed the door and used my fingers to feel around the edge of the gasket. The magnetized gasket was very securely attached to the freezer, except the bottom left corner of the gasket, which had ~ 1/4" gap between the gasket and the freezer which would have caused warm air to get into the freezer. To fix this, I used a curling iron to heat the edge of the gasket (not too hot to melt it!) in order to make it more pliable. While the gasket was pliable, I closed the door again, pressing on the bottom left area to make sure the magnets attached to the freezer. After holding this in place for a few minutes, the gasket formed to the door and there was no longer a gap. Problem fixed! We have had no problems with frost in the freezer since replacing the gasket. David P Athens , TX August 05, 2016 Gasket replacement Replace gasket. Started at the top of the door removing screws and old gasket. Once I was about half way down the door, started placing new gasket in place. This kept the door plate in place and kept things in alignment. Not really hard, just a lot of screws. Ernest V Lafayette , CA January 21, 2017 Appliance: Model KENMORE FREEZER 25321421101 Ice collected at bottom of freezer and motor ran continuously Followed instructions included with replacement door gasket and watched a couple of Youtube videos. Installation went fine although it took some time working on the seal using a hairdryer to reshape and straighten it. The freezer's drain hole was plugged as a result of all the ice at the bottom of the freezer so I removed ice and cleared the drain hole. Sixteen year old freezer works like new now! I was very pleased with the standard shipping--I ordered it around 11:30am and received it the next day around 10am!
