This fuel tank is a replacement part that is OEM sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in trimmers. The fuel tank holds the gas that powers the machine when in use. It is a metal part that is designed to withstand heavy use and the weather; however, over time, it may become damaged or corroded and need to be replaced. This replacement fuel tank assembly comes with the gaskets, fuel cap, and fastening screws needed for installation.Before replacing the fuel tank assembly, make sure the engine is cool to touch. Wear work gloves and safety goggles for protection. Empty all fuel out of the damaged tank into a safe receptacle, but remember that fuel from the damaged tank may have contaminants in it and should not be reused. Remove the breather tube grommet and disconnect the fuel line. Remove the screws holding the damaged tank to the trimmer. Align the new fuel tank and install the gaskets to seal the connection to the trimmer. Secure the fuel tank with the new screws. Fill the new fuel tank with fresh gas.This fuel tank assembly is a metal, 3-quart tank that is designed for use on Briggs and Stratton trimmers.
