• Tray won't turn

When our turntable stopped rotating, I would hear a clicking sound each time I used our microwave, like something was not properly engaging in order to turn the glass tray. Even though our microwave was 10 years old, everything else worked fine. I called GE and they sent a tech out. $89 service call. Had I REALLY inspected the oven the hidden element had blown and separated and part of it welded itself to the inside of it's compartment. GE wanted another $350 to come back and fix it. I bought the part here for around $55 and had it running again in about an hour! Read more

I replaced the idler pulley assembly, the bearing plastic and the drive belt. While disassembled I cleaned the interior of the cabinet and lubricated the drum bearings with silicone after cleaning everything thoroughly. The dryer is now quiet and hopefully stays that way. Read more
