Very easy replaced switch. Read more
Oven not broiling or browning food? The broil element provides high heat at the top of the oven. Simple 5-10 minute DIY fix with basic tools.
Would advise before doing this repair to watch the video for it. It is not a plug in connection anymore like older ovens. The key is to keep the connecting wires from the oven from falling or pulling into the inner wall of the oven. The wires may not come very far out away from the wall of the oven so make sure to secure them. The video shows a good way to do that. If you have an in wall oven this is very important because it would hard and time consuming to pull the oven out of the wall to... Read more
The Check Valve Flapper is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. It is a small but crucial component located within the water inlet valve assembly. Symptoms of a bad check valve flapper include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore dishwasher models.
Pulled dishwasher from the cabinet and flipped onto its side. Easy access to sump and drain flapper valve that I also replaced. Rubber sump coming apart into soft pills & chunks and plugging spray arms. Better now but it's rediculous that GE would make components that dissolve this way. Read more
Dryer won't start, stops mid-cycle, or runs backward? The drive motor powers drum rotation. Moderate difficulty repair requires disassembly. Video guide.
I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. I changed the switch first and then checked the old motor which surprisingly fired right up. Now I have to decide whether to return the new motor or keep it as a spare. Read more

Left side hinge assembly for oven doors. Replaces broken, cracked, or worn hinges that prevent proper door opening and closing. Direct fit component.
I always save original books and assembly sheets for appliances. That helped a lot ! The assembly sheets showed how the ovens went in, how they were attached to the cabinet and what to avoid so I didn’t bend trim piece. Original booklet showed how to replace oven doors and lights etc. Once the hinge assemblies arrived I started replacement after having read on the internet original hinges had some problems. So I had ordered both right and left hinges to avoid a possible problem with the... Read more

Plus they told me the parts come from overseas and will take 2 week to arrive. I researched the model number and can part and found exactly what I was looking for on your site. Plus there were diagrams and forum discussions that boosted my confidence on repairing ourself. Using your parts diagrams and our manual information, we pulled... Read more

I had a repairman in to check why machine had no power. I watched as he opened the door up and secured the electrical ribbon in place and lights on control panel came on. Asked him questions about the noise he confirmed it was the blower. would have charged me around $250.00 to replace that. Spoke to a rep on the phone and ordered the part for $100.00. The replacement part arrived in 1 day. Looked at the parts diagram on your site to orient myself. Separated the the front door( screws)... Read more

Replaced above parts, easy to do, looks like a new stove. Needed to pry open knob stem slot segments very slightly to remove broken plastic from previous knobs. Spreading stem slot metal sides too much and they will break. With slots cleaned out, pinch stem sides almost together for new knobs to slide on. Customer service rep was helpful and parts delivery was next day as promised. Before contacting Appliance Parts Pros, I found their on-line customer reviews were much better than their... Read more

My wife put the faceplate on the oven control while I accessed the display by pulling the oven out, unplugged it, and removed the rear cover. Only three nut head screws held the upper back panel. 4 nut screws hold the display onto the oven, they were easily removed. My wife took a couple photos of the rear wiring to ensure we plugged the new oven control in properly (there are a fair number of wires but they are color coded in most cases). Turns out we didn't need the photo. As we pulled a... Read more
Selector knob or dial stopped working? This encoder board translates rotary control input into signals. Moderate DIY repair requires control panel removal.
Replaced the "Encoder Board". My GE Advantium control panel came of fairly easily. There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. Once I removed that screw, I had to slide the control panel upwards by about 1/2" before it came off. At this point, I took several photographs of the wire connections to make sure I could reassemble them correctly... there were many! After unplugging the wire harnesses and connections, I...
