Selector knob or dial stopped working? This encoder board translates rotary control input into signals. Moderate DIY repair requires control panel removal.
Replaced the "Encoder Board". My GE Advantium control panel came of fairly easily. There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. Once I removed that screw, I had to slide the control panel upwards by about 1/2" before it came off. At this point, I took several photographs of the wire connections to make sure I could reassemble them correctly... there were many! After unplugging the wire harnesses and connections, I... This halogen light bulb restores bright, reliable illumination inside your appliance, making it easier to check food and read controls. Replace a burned-out or broken lamp to bring back safe, convenient visibility while cooking.
Had to remove all three food drawers and the back panel behind the drawers (4 screws). The water tank comes with the associated tubing which would typically require access to the back of the fridge to run the new lines. Instead I clipped the existing lines inside the fridge. Then I clipped the lines off the new tank so they would line up with the old lines. I then used a 5/16" OD compression coupling (Lowes or Home Depot) to connect the ends of the tubing together. The joined tubes are... Read more
