Jacob A Midlothian , TX February 04, 2019 Appliance: General Electric General Electric AVM4160DF1WS After my daughter tried to make herself mac and cheese and I put out the burning lump of macaroni the microwave would not power on Tried to turn the microwave on, checked the outlet for power, check the breaker to see if it was tripped, all was in order. Removed the over the range microwave and pull the covers, Tested continuity with a multimeter for each of the 4 normally closed thermostats, found 2 bad (open). The upper 110 and the lower right 70. Ordered the needed parts as well as both lamp sockets and bulbs as they where broken too. The parts where correct and where delivered on time. (Also, in your tools needed or used below, there should be a multimeter / voltmeter as a selection.) Diagnosing and repairing any type of an electrical component should not be attempted without using and knowing how to use a multimeter properly. Sean L Lempster , NH March 03, 2019 Appliance: Model JVM3160EF1ES Thermal cutout flame resistor Opened door,took off top section cover with screws,theres a little compartment with a flexible plastic door,just bend it down,reach in,and disconnect the two orange wires that connect to the sensor,which looks like a button,black/silver...of course unplug microwave before any dismantling starts-high voltage in all ovens!!
