This genuine OEM welch plug manufactured for use in select Briggs & Stratton engines may be found in several locations in the carburetor. Its job is to seal air and fuel passages that help ensure that the proper air and fuel mixture gets to the engine. These plugs are exposed to constant vibrations, chemicals, and high temperatures. They can become worn, damaged, or break loose and get lost over time. If this occurs, a replacement will be necessary. It's often best to replace all of the welch plugs and other gasket components at the same time.
