The Surface Element is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges. The small surface element is responsible for providing direct heat to the cookware placed on the corresponding burner of the electric cooktop or range. This element is typically located underneath the glass surface of the cooktop or range, ensuring efficient and even heat distribution for cooking.

Symptoms of a failing Surface Element include:

• The element not heating up at all
• Heating unevenly or only partially

• The control switch not regulating the temperature properly

This element mounting spring secures a surface cooktop heating element to the range, keeping the element stable and ensuring consistent electrical contact for reliable heating. Replaces a worn or missing spring to restore proper element fit. What it does

• Holds the surface heating element in place under the cooktop or in the drip pan.
• Maintains stable mechanical and electrical contact so the element heats evenly.
• Prevents element wobble, movement, or poor seating that can cause intermittent heating.
• Commonly needed when an element drops, rattles, or fails to make solid contact.

• Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair.
• Remove the element and/or drip pan per the range service instructions to access the spring.
• Install the spring in the same orientation as the original; ensure the element seats fully and securely.
