Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The fan in the lower draw was not working   Michael K. • Trinity , FL • February 16, 2025

I replaced the fan and heater element. The replacement was not an exact match. I had to adjust the parts to get the harness to fit the plug was not the correct size. I cut it off and used the existing plug. Not a big deal and everything else fit. Pretty good for a twenty year old replacement. Also the heater element was a different shape but it fit as is. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Defrost cycle not working   Thomas W. • Bastrop , TX • July 31, 2015

The unit is 15 years old. Instead of just replacing the Adaptive Defrost Control Board , I opted to replace all parts related to include the Heating Element, Defrost Thermostat, and the Evaporator Fan Motor. I feel it was worth the extra money and piece of mind not to worry about what would fail next. In the long run it is was cheaper to replace those parts than replace all the food lost after it failed while we were on vacation! This company is just awesome! Great customer support and the... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The motor of our electorlux gas dryer was burned out plus i had already patched up a problem with the blower fan previously motor would just buzz on not turn   Mark F. • Fowler , IN • January 16, 2016

Ordered the parts from Appliance Pro's and installed them. Fairly easy install. Just plug in connections on motor's electrical. Top and front come off of Dryer then once belt is unhooked the Drum comes right out and you have easy access to the motor and blower. After that it is just 4 screws that hold motor and blower in. Install new equipment in bracket and fastened back in machine. When completed hit start button and off it went. Works Great. And has run several loads in last couple days. Read more

16 yr old 42" Kitchenaid Superba KSSP42QKS00 built-in side by side. Freezer not cooling properly (+9 to 18 degrees and refrigerator +32 to +44 degrees). Ran the diag and the evap fan showed code 02 (fan on, but at incorrect speed) all other modules showed code 01 for working properly. So bought the evap fan replacement kit from AppliancePro who as usual had the best price and support. Swapping out the fan was easy: take all the freezer shelves out, take two of the drawer guides out, two... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Freezer temperature felt cold but temperature would not drop below 50 degrees   Justus S. • Poulsbo , WA • February 08, 2015

This repair was likely compounded by a second failed component after several unplug attempts. The first failure occurred after the freezer door had been left ajar. The freezer temp wouldn't drop but inside it still felt cold. I did several panel resets and the 'unplug for 12 hours' trick, neither changed indications. Checking behind the condenser cover revealed that it was still cold and appeared to be function, but the evap fan did not appear to be working. At some point during one of the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Turntable not spinning   Thomas G. • Ottawa , IL • March 19, 2014

Start bye removing the three screws that hold the underside of the microwave up. Once those are undone, the panel pivots down. You then need to un-attach the lights so the panel will totally come off and out of the way. The motor is plainly visible. Remove the power plug and remove the one screw then it twists out of its slot. Install the new motor and reverse the directions. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Blower cooling fan had a bad bushing and was vibrating and making noise   Christopher O. • Great Falls , VA • March 12, 2014

Easy fix, this was an identical match to the fan that was in the oven. The only thing missing was the foam strip, that easily came off the old fan assembly and stuck to the new one. The hardest thing was finding the part, and with a picture to verify. I have found appliancepros.com has a large list of available parts, easy to find in their inventory of available items, and some of the best prices as well.
