First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. I had to replace the 3 terminals and try to put them in the new terminal receptacle. I replaced the lid switch because I broke the old one trying to diagnose the problem. I found the helpful video on this site after I had already started. Read more

I ORDERED A TIMER UNIT TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND BEFORE I GOT THAT FAR I FOUND THAT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR A BROKEN GROUND WIRE CAUSED BY OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR OVER THE YEARS. AFTER REPLACING THE SECTION THAT WAS BROKEN THE DISHWASHER WAS WORKING FINE. Read more
