The main conduit was broken and the pump connector had a hole in it. The pump also was showing signs of leaking. I completely disassembled the dishwasher cleaned everything and reassembled. The repair videos are a big help. Thank you.

I disconnected the spray arm housing from the bottom of the dishwasher. I took apart the spray arm housing to isolate the spray arm. I put the spray arm housing back together with the new spray arm and replaced the spray arm housing to the bottom of the dishwasher.

Our ge dishwasher model gsd580p49ba was not fully cleaning dishes after washing. we kept finding grainy food particles and debris deposited all over the dishes Mary H. • Boonsboro , MD • February 07, 2020
We removed the spray arm from the Spray Arm Hub and Support Assembly (GE part WD22X126) and discovered that the Check Valve (GE part WD1X5488), which prevents dirty water from flowing back into the tub, was missing completely. Replacement was very easy - the soft rubber valve pushes into position from the inside of the Support Assembly. We also found that the Plastic Thrust Washer (GE part WD3X766) inside the center of the Spray Arm Hub had eroded considerably, so we replaced that as well.
