This is a wheel shaft oil seal that can be used on several tillers and lawnmowers. It is located in the same areas as the tire and wheel assembly and prevents the leaking of oil from this area of the equipment. The seal is made of durable plastic but wear and tear or regular use can wear it our or cause damage. If the seal is damaged, it will start to leak oil and the part will need to be replaced.An inspection of the wheel shaft oil seal will determine whether it is causing issues with the tool. First, the wheels need to be removed and the shafts cleaned. The wheel shaft oil seals can be accessed from here, so a user can determine if they need to be replaced. If they do, the old seals should be pulled out of the holes using a pry bar.
