This part is a pump and motor assembly. This component is made for use on dishwashers and is responsible for pumping water through the spray arms during the washing cycle. This part is essential for the operation of the appliance. If there is no water circulation during the dishwashing cycle, then the pump and motor assembly will need to be replaced. The spray arms spin during the washing process and this assembly causes the arms to spin, so if they are not spinning, this will be the correct replacement part. It is advised that the person performing the repair unplug the dishwasher from the electrical outlet or turn off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher before attempting to replace this part. This particular pump and motor assembly is compatible with dishwashers that are manufactured by the Whirlpool, Kenmore, and Jenn-Air brands. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually.
