The Door Seal is an OEM part for Bosch front load washers, designed to ensure a watertight seal between the door and the drum. This part prevents water from leaking out during the wash cycle, maintaining the efficiency and safety of your appliance.

Over time, the constant exposure to water and detergent, along with the physical stress of laundry loads, can cause the door seal to degrade.

Symptoms of a bad Door Seal include:

  • Visible signs of wear, such as cracks, holes, or tears, which can lead to water leaks.
  • Mold or mildew buildup, resulting from trapped moisture and detergent residue, which can cause unpleasant odors and potential health issues.
  • The door struggling to close properly or water leakage during the wash cycle, indicating a seal that has lost its elasticity or is otherwise damaged.

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Harvey, The door seal is the same as the one on the unit. Things that you can do to help keep from molding are to make sure that you run a clean cycle a couple times a month. This would be to run unit with nothing in it and on the hottest water setting. You would also want to dry the door boot after use and leave door cracked open instead of leaving closed up all the time.

Hello Mer. You will need to leave the door cracked and use Affresh W10549845 once a month to help prevent mold build up. If the unit holds alot of water, check and make sure the boot is not clogged at the drain holes. Hope this helps.
