The Rinse Aid Door (with Gasket) is an OEM replacement part for Bosch dishwashers. It is responsible for covering and sealing the rinse aid dispenser. Problems with a rinse aid door can cause leaks during washing.

Causes of issues may include wear over time, damage to the door or integrated gasket. This can compromise the seal needed to contain rinse aid.

Symptoms of a problem rinse aid door:

  • Observing liquid around the dispenser area
  • Water spots after a cycle
  • A loose or damaged gasket allows contents to leak underneath.

This genuine Bosch OEM replacement part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models

For Bosch Rinse Aid Door (With Gasket) (Part Number: OEM8407014)

Denise, We're pretty sure replacing the 12008380 Dispenser assembly would be in the best interest and the easier repair to make. The constant rinse aid could most likely be due to a damaged solenoid or linkage to the dispenser plunger. Those parts are not available as individual parts. The dispenser assembly is in stock and available at this time. Thanks,

Amy, You will need to remove the outer door panel and inspect the dispenser assembly 12008380 / 12008380 for a damaged solenoid or actuator linkage to the rinse dispenser. If there is a problem in the dispenser linkage, it would continue to allow the rinse agent to dispense. If all checks OK, you'll need to check for constant voltage to the dispenser from the control board, which would also allow the rinse agent to dispense constantly.

Hello K.J., This is normally caused by the latch and not the door. Due to the complexity of the dispenser assembly and the changes that have been made to it by the manufacturer, we would recommend replacing the complete assembly 00490467.

Cindy for Model Number SHX53T55UC/01

I use Finish rinse aid and have hard water with a water softener. The problem that I am having is the rinse aid (dishwaher) sticks to my small plates that are directly under the rinse aid dispenser. I have to use goo gone to remove the rinse aid that is like a residue after your remove a sticker that is left on the glass. I have tried running my dishwasher in two cleaning cycles using white vinegar. Just wondering if you might have anymore suggestions? Thank you

Cindy, you may want to adjust how much rinse aid is being dispensed during the cycle. This can be done through the following: The amount of rinse aid dispensed can be set from "r:00" to "r:06".1 Press the [On/Off] button. 2 Hold down the "Auto" button and press [Start] until the display indicates "d:00". Release both buttons. 3 Press the "Auto" button until the display shows "r:05". 4 Press the "Rinse" button to select the desired setting. "r:00" = dispenser is OFF "r:01" = lowest setting "r:02" = low setting "r:03" = medium setting "r:04" = medium/high setting "r:05" = high setting "r:06" = highest setting. 5 Press [Start] to save the setting.

Cia, the indicator is designed to regulate the amount of rinse aide distributed during the rinse cycle. The lower the number, the smaller amount it dispenses. You will need to manually set it to the amount you want it to dispense, it does not move on it's on.

Pierre, A proper model number of the dishwasher would be needed for a better and more precise explanation. Basically, For dishwashers with a rinse agent sensor, the indicator light is usually labeled and located on the control panel. For machines with the "standard" rinse aid dispenser, there is a clear "eye" in the rinse agent door and dispenser, if the "eye" is clear, the dispenser is empty, if the "eye" has the same color as the rinse agent being used, the rinse dispenser has enough rinse agent, the color will dissipate as the rinse agent is dispensed. The rinse agent in a standard type dispenser usually dispenses 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of rinse agent, one time per wash cycle(the final rinse, usually). If the rinse dispenser is "adjustable" you can reduce the amount of rinse agent to a couple of drops to 1/2 or more teaspoons per load. These are "general" or "basic" information and tips, with a proper model number we can be more precise. Thanks,
