Geoff R. August 03, 2013 for Model Number GGSCV36 No gas to left front burner, but it has spark. Left rear has gas, sparks & lights. Looking at a similar question, it was recommended that the gas valve was bad. What would be the problem in this case? replacement part number(s)?
1 Answer Geoff, The gas valve would be the issue with the unit. The part number for the valve is 00189866 which has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no replacement available. Read More...
Cathy April 06, 2013 for Model Number prsg3045 will a bad solenoid in a thermador range stop it from sparking?
1 Answer Cathy, No, not really. If a burner igniter won't spark, you'll need to check the potentiometer 00422748, or simmer control 00422882 if the issue is with one of the simmer burners. It may also be an issue in the spark module 00753257 if the issue is a "standard" burner. Read More...
Ed March 26, 2013 for Model Number SGCS365RS The left burners (with simmer control), the rear shuts off only when on low but not simmer and will nor restart for 10-20 minutes, a spark is present, just no gas. Works normally if set just above above low or on simmer. Front burner works normally on simmer and low settings. I swapped potentiometers and the problem stays with the rear burner. Do I need the solenoid 411253 and is the coil available separately? It seems strange that the burner works on simmer and restarts normally and runs fine at any setting above low. Thanks, Ed
1 Answer Hello Ed, The solenoid 00411253 is going to be the issue and the gas valve can also contribute to the issue. Most of the time, when the gas valve is part of the issue, the valve will either be hard to turn or the valve has a spot that opposes rotation. The solenoid is available only with the solenoid assembly, since the valve that the solenoid opens is normally the cause of the failure of the solenoid. Read More...
Bob F. March 01, 2013 for Model Number PRG304US Left front burner sparks, but no gas. The left rear sparks, gas and lights. I am assuming it is the gas valve and potentiometer, but if this unit as a solenoid, how to get to it.?
1 Answer Bob, It's not the solenoid valve, were it the issue, the rear burner would not ignite or burn, were it the potentiometer or spark module, there would be no spark at the front burner. That pretty much leaves it to a faulty gas valve 00415499 or clogged burner orifice 00415498. Read More...
Joe January 08, 2013 for Model Number prg304us Both left burners will spark but no gas .They are both x-lo burners. Can you tell me what the voltage should be to the solenoids?
1 Answer Hello Joe, To test the gas solenoid valve you will turn off gas to range. Disconnect wires from the valve and set ohm metere to R x 10K scale. Touch the ohmmeter leads to the solenoid coil terminals. The meter should read 1760 ohms. If not correct then you would need to replace the solenoid. Read More...
Dj December 13, 2012 for Model Number prds48 My stove thermador 48" with 6 burners plus a gas grill and two ovens. Like a bonehead, I overflowed water from a stock pot. The water went down on the XLO burners. Now those burners will not work at all. I can never light (no spark) when I use their knobs and will not light with match. Note, the two xlo burners will spark ONLY when I turn on the two NON xlo burners next to them, but still will not light. Note, I also switched a spark wire from a non xlo burner to an xlo burner and the same behavior as above exists with no change. My other burners will light still and seem to work with both the electornic ignition or with a match. Do you have idea on the issue(s) or how to test further?
1 Answer Hello DJ. Make sure you dry out the unit good and clean all the burners. If still not sparking, replace the spark switches. Read More...
Chice October 11, 2012 for Model Number Thermador RDFS30RS Hi. My front left burner (extra low) lights and after being on for 3-5 minutes cuts off and will not relight for several hours. This happens weather I'm using it full blast or on the extra low setting. Once it turns off on the extra low it will not relight. Is this the the part I need to fix this problem and is this only part I need to buy? Thank you!

Hardtarget2 January 08, 2012 for Model Number PRDS 304 How do I test the solenoid AP2828839 to determine if it's bad?
1 Answer Hello Hardtarget2. You will test for power coming to the solenoid. If there is power there, and the solenoid does not open, you will need to replace the solenoid 00411253. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hardtarget2 October 08, 2011 for Model Number Thermador prds304 my left rear burner doesnt emit any gas but sparks fine. I switched the potentiometers (left rear not working with the working left front burner) & it (left rear) still didnt work but the left front burner turned on fine but still no gas in the rear. I suspect the solenoid. What's your diagnosis?
1 Answer Hardtarget2, Very good diagnosis, yes it could very well be a bad solenoid 00411253 . Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
