Jim July 13, 2014 for Model Number 417-44052401 The video shows to remove a full circle spring clamp. My machine only has a spring that stretches maybe 3" and hooks into 2 molded in tabs at the bottom of the seal. The new seal doesn't have these tabs?. What gives? Is this the wrong seal or do I need to use a different spring/clamp now? Why wasn't this mentioned as a notice if purchasing the seal?
1 Answer Jim, The door seal is the correct one for your unit and the spring will go on the same way as it came off. The only difference is they eliminated the tabs that the spring hooked into. It is not necessary to have them if the spring is installed correctly. Read More...

Vanessa December 30, 2013 for Model Number 41748102701 Hello, I am looking at a used Kenmore washer to purchase but the owner has said it leaks a little from the front door. Is this leak likely from the door boot seal or is it possible it's from a less expensive problem?
1 Answer Vanessa, it could be as simple as the owner using too much or the wrong type of detergent, and you won't need any parts at all. It could also be that the washer may be overfilling, the water level in the tub(empty) should be 3 to 4 inches deep) 1/2 inch or more water could cause the door to leak slightly. In that case you would need to check the water pressure switch and air tube for possible debris in the hose. Then check the door boot/bellows for debris and possibly being out of alignment or partially off of the flange on the front panel from improper loading/unloading of the washer. Read More...
