1 Answer Joe, It does not appear that the drum would have to be removed in order to get the blower wheel off but would be easier to do so. Read More...
Mrs Kramden December 10, 2017 for Model Number FEX831FS4 hi there, dryer takes 2 hours to dry a normal load, there is heat yet lots of lint & moisture, me thinks a new blower wheel is in order, how to install please, can it be done via front of machine?
1 Answer Mrs Kramden, It is not likely going to be an issue with the blower but will be an issue with the venting. You will want to check the venting from the blower housing all the way to the outside of the home. Read More...

Alan March 20, 2013 for Model Number Fridigaire FGX831FS1 How do I access the Blower Wheel on a Fridigaire FGX831FS1 to see if it is stuck? Also how would I know it's stuck and how do I make it unstuck?
1 Answer Hello Alan. You will need to remove the 2 screws from the top of the bottom access panel on the front. Then remove the lint filter and the screws holding the air duct in place. Make sure the power is disconnected before you do this repair on the unit. Read More...
Buba March 16, 2011 for Model Number 417.99680210 How often should the blower wheel be replaced? When the dyer is started, a wobble-knocking sound comes from the platic blower wheel housing. Could the blower wheel be slipping on the motor shaft? I removed the clamp and blower wheel, and cleaned off the lint (to balance the wheel), and it still knocks. Do you have any suggestions? Might the pressure fitting loose it's pressure? BTW: I replaced the front felt glide (AP2150497) and belt (AP4565702), and the drum sounds great.
1 Answer Hello Buba. It sounds like the wheel is slipping, and you will need to replace it. Hope this helps. Read More...
