Lyndy April 10, 2016 for Model Number PLGFZ390ECE My oven control needs to be replaced (which seems pretty common on here). I watched the videos and it looks like a pretty simple repair. They also show reusing the overlay. Do I need to buy a new overlay or can I reuse my current overlay?? Thanks!
1 Answer Lyndy, The Overlay is a tricky piece to say whether to replace or reuse. The original relay may be stuck to the control and could potentially be damaged or not re-adhere to the new control module. For this reason it is always best to order the overlay when getting the clock assembly that way if the original does get damaged or will not adhere then you have one available. The overlay is part number 316419700 and if it is not needed you can return for a refund. Read More...

1 Answer Karen, You will want to check to see if the igniter is coming on. If the igniter is not coming on then you will want to check the igniter and the valve to make sure that they are good. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. If this checks ok then you would want to replace the clock assembly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
