The Console Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It houses the control board located at the top of the dishwasher door, containing buttons and displays for cycle selection.

Causes for failure relate to prolonged exposure in wet, hot dishwasher environments breaking down the circuit board. Mineral buildup inhibiting contacts is also possible.

Symptoms include:

  • Non-responsive or unreliable selection buttons during operation
  • Glitchy or blinking displays rendering settings unclear
  • Failure to advance fully through cycles as directed
  • Random cycles activating without input control

This Frigidaire OEM replacement part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and some Kenmore models.

George for Model Number FPHD2491KF0

I have a frigidaire professional series dishwasher, after I ran a normal cycle with sanitize mode, and it finished, the sanitize light was on, but none of the buttons would work. I reset the circuit breaker the dishwasher beeped and the sanitize button went off, however the buttons on the control panel still did not work. I removed the front panel and the lock assembly while moving things around the normal display came on and I was able to set to run a new cycle. When the wash was finished, it went back to the same problem I had initially with just the sanitize light on and no response from the buttons. What could be causing this issue? What parts would I need to purchase to make the repair? Thank you, George

order #5524862 console assembly Previous question (edited): "Hi, I spoke with Chris A. on Friday and ordered the console assembly for my dishwasher. Installed it today, plugged it in and it lights up. Hooray! I made a selection and it said Cd (close door) but when I close the door it beeps and says PF (power failure) and keeps beeping until I unplug it. ********************** We took the door off again and checked the connections. Plugged it in, lights come on, cycle selected, press start and close door. Cycle starts, starts filling with water and then everything stops. Any ideas? I don't know if it's worth it to keep trying to fix, maybe send the part back and replace unit.

Hello Rene. You need to check the door switches and see if they are good on the unit. The power passes through the door switches.

Hi, I spoke with Chris A. on Friday and ordered the console assembly for my dishwasher. Got it quickly. Installed it today, plugged it in and it lights up. Hooray! I made a selection and it said Cd (close door) but when I close the door it beeps and says PF (power failure) and keeps beeping until I unplug it. Not sure what the next step would be, any ideas on where to go from here? Thanks for any help. I will check back for an answer in a couple of hours.

Hello Rene. You will need to take the unit back apart and check all wiring connections on the unit. It sounds like one may be not making good contact.

Larwatt, The ER is an error code and is indicating that the keypad has a faulty key or key that was pushed for more than 60 seconds. This would need to have the console replaced which is part number 5304475578.

Tracy, The console would most likely be the issue with the unit and would need to replace part number 5304475578. To replace you would remove the screws from inside of the door and lift the inner door up. This will give access to the console to replace.

Kinase for Model Number FPHD2491

First I noticed only a few cycle selections would light up when I pressed on the touchpad (light wash, rinse only etc) but the start button was still working so I was able to operate with "light wash". The next day, only "rinse only" can be selected, none of the other buttons lit upon including the "start" button when I pressed so I was not able to turn the machine on. I also noticed if pressed the other cycle section buttons while keeping the "rinse only" pressed, they all can light up although will go off as soon as I lift my finger. The cables look dry and clean. should I replace the console assembly? thanks

Kinase, Based on the description of the problem, this issue does sound like it would be caused by a faulty console which would need to be replaced.

Hello Lawrence, Run the diagnostic mode to see if any fault codes are present, (this is explained on the tech sheet behind the kick panel). If none, open the door panel and check the connections of the ribbon cable to the control. If there is any signs of moisture in the control area, you will need to replace the PCB cover gasket 5304475568. The actual issue can be caused by the touch panel 5304475578 or the control 5304475569.
