The Control Board is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. Located inside the cabinet, the control board houses the machine's electronic components that direct each cycle's operation and monitor safety functions. Its integrated circuits coordinate vital tasks like temperature regulation, load balancing, and spin speeds.

Causes of a bad control board can include water damage from leaks or floods, failure of electronic components due to power surges, or stresses from repetitive use of overheating connections.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • Flashing or non-responsive displays
  • Repeatedly failing in the same segment of the cycle
  • Inability to power on or start cycles
  • Unusual noises, vibrations, or smells from within

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

What is the difference between the User Interface Board (that is what the washer tech data sheet calls it) and the Main Control Board? It was my understanding that the Main Control Board was the one located at the top front of the washing machine... The part that goes behind the digital readings... However, after doing some research & some online checking, typing “Main Control Board “ into a search engine, it shows me a few different parts that are simply called “Control boards”... What does the User Interface Board look like?

Sherry, The first thing to check would be to make sure that there are no wires that got damaged when laying the unit down on its side. If all the wiring checks ok then the control board would be the likely cause for the failure.

Here's a conundrum for you. Washer doesn't fill when set to normal cycle. It will first drain then sense then jumps from 42 minutes on the readout to 3 minutes. Then shut off. No power to the fill valves during any of this. But, the washer works just fine on any other cycle chosen. After examining the washer, and informing the gentleman that I believed the problem to be the control board, and then putting it back together, I tested the washer and it worked just fine on all cycles, including normal. When I checked for errors, it gave an E11 error which is a long fill. It passed every test in service mode. I understand that is simply could've been a loose connection, but that doesn't explain why it wouldn't work on the normal cycle at the beginning but did on all others. By the way, the machine was never unplugged during any of this. Is my diagnosis correct? Or do you need more info?

Hello Dar. If there is 110 volts at the board, and it is dead, you will need to order and replace the control board on the unit.
