Marshall H September 12, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore Freezer Model# 25316542102 I have Purchase a capacitor and controller for my freezer. And it still not freezing, just cooling. I had replace both parts with new parts. Motor is running, When I turn unit off it makes the clicking sound and turns off. When I turn the unit on and put it on 6 or 7 I hear a clicking sound and the compressor is running. Left freezer on for a day and half and it is still not freezing. What are my other options?
1 Answer Marshall, You will need to make sure that you check the evaporator coils to see what kind of frost pattern there is. A partial frost pattern would be an indication of a sealed system issue whether a leak or a restriction. A full even frost pattern would be a good frost pattern. A frost pattern where the coils are impacted by ice or frost would mean a issue with the defrost. If there is a defrost issue you will want to test the defrost thermostat and defrost heater for continuity. If there is no continuity then the part that does not have it would need to be replaced. If there is continuity on both then the defrost control would be faulty and need to be replaced. Also check to make sure that the evaporator fan is running. Read More...
