Mike July 17, 2012 for Model Number frs3hr5hq3 my damper stays closed the fan in freezer runs and the freezer stays frozen but the fridge side is just cool is it the air damper contrlo or the control panel
1 Answer Mike, Based on your post description, the damper assembly 241600906 should be the issue, sisnce the evaporator fan runs, and the freezer temp. is maintained the damper door / motor is not opening properly. You will need to determine which damper you will need based on the number of micro switches mounted on the assembly ( 1 switch or 2 switches) and order the appropriate assembly. Thanks Read More...
Rosa January 20, 2012 for Model Number LFUS2613LPO My refrigerator is not cooling. It beeps beeuse the temperature went up.When i turn it off and I turn it back on I hear like a fan is working, then after a few seconds it stops. I'm not shure if the problem is this part can you please let me know it seems to be this part. The part is AP3958400 (Dampter).
1 Answer Rosa, The damper assembly, would be a good place to start, but based on the information, you need to check the evaporator fan/blower motor 242077705 in the freezer section. It has to run longer than a few seconds in order to circulate the air, over to the refrigerator compartment and cool. Once the fridge reaches temperature, then the auto damper will close and open as needed. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...

Gene December 15, 2011 for Model Number FRS3R3JWO My Frigidaire side by side is making a loud rattling noise inside the fridge side. After examination, I found that the round metal piece on the damper control part #AP3958400 is making the rattling sound. Does that mean I need to replace the damper control, and are there instructions availible?
1 Answer Hello Gene. Yes, you will need to replace the damper assembly 241600906. If you remove the screws securing the side cover, you will pull out on the back of the cover and twist the front to remove it from the front housing. Some models will need the front removed as well. Once the cover is removed, you can access and replace the damper 241600906. Make sure the wires are running in the same place as the old one. Hope this helps. Read More...

Richard G September 05, 2011 for Model Number ? I see this model # AP3958400 is exactly where my refrigerator is making noise. It is making a buzzing or clicking sound like a fan with something stuck in it. Could this be the issue or is it something else behind the Part Number: AP2116154 (Box – control)? Plus I need to know the screw head sizes for the screws near the back of the refrigerator which I believe is part # AP3960086.
1 Answer Richard, I would also imagine you have a cooling issue in the refrigerator. but you are on the right track. There isn't much behind the damper assembly, actually nothing once you get the assembly out. Here is some screw information : Screw,No.8AB x 1 3/4`` and Screw, hex washer head ,8-15A x 0.625 ,low profile. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
