Iced Up July 15, 2013 for Model Number 1069552882 How do I know if my defrost element is out? I checked with an ohm metter and I have 26.4 ohms.
1 Answer Hello. If the element reads closed for continuity, it is good. You need to test the thermostat and the timer on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Denney July 15, 2012 for Model Number F45ZR24J If I replace the Defrost Timer Switch is it preset or must it be set? I notice that it turns. Our units coils keep freezing up and I am afraid I got the timing messed up by turning the red knob.

Jim February 25, 2012 for Model Number MRT18FNEW2 Water is dripping from the corners of the lower part of the seal on the freezer door, at the handle end and at the hinge end. The drip is where to seal joins the door, not on the freezer side of the seal (cabinet). The icemaker stopped working 3 days ago. Also, items put in the freezer then did not freeze and frozen goods began to thaw. The drip was noticed yesterday afternoon. I checked the water supply valve and the mesh filter is clear. The freezer is on top with the refrigerator below it. The refrigerator is working fine. I tested the freezer door seal with a sheet of paper and the seal is good against the cabinet. Any ideas on the problem?
1 Answer Jim, are you sure the freezer door was closed completely ? could be that there was something blocked and keeping the door slightly open ? Did you notice any heavy frost or ice on the back wall of the freezer or the freezer floor, You could have a clogged defrost drain system, but you should have other cooling complaints, you didn't mention. Todd April 24, 2011 for Model Number Frigidaire Model # FRS26ZRFW3 side x side A few months ago i noticed the refrigerator side was not cooling, the temp. was up to 65 .. the freezer however was frozen and fan was running. I removed everything and unplugged and let it completely thaw as there was a substantial amount of ice build-up on coils in back of freezer. After that the refrigerator started cooling properly. NOW a few months later the same thing and the coils etc. behind panel on freezer side are all froze up again. I was told a common problem is this DEFROST HEATER not working, is that a correct assumption? Thanks for any help
1 Answer Hello Todd. You will need to test the heater and the defrost thermostat 5303917954. They should read closed for continuity when cold. If either one is open, replace that part. If they test good, you will need to replace the defrost timer 215846602. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
