Shon June 21, 2020 I am trying to figure out the model number to my dryer I have a Frigidaire affinity washer Model ATF8000FG! I have a matching dryer but all the numbers have rubbed off as it is inside the door on the frame I am looking for the heating element and some simple tune up parts...I believe the Heating Element is AP2135126 thanks for your help..
1 Answer Hello Shon, unfortunately, appliance parts are model specific, without a model number it is not possible to locate a parts list to find the correct parts. Read More...
Karen Bollinger June 06, 2020 for Model Number 41788052700 My dryer was squeaking so I ordered a new belt and a rear bearing kit. Proceeded to disassemble and replaced bearing. Noticed in disassemble that I didn’t have the front support bracket for the drum seen in the video. Thought I would order and can’t find it. Do all dryer drums have that front support bracket for the drum. I don’t want to put my machine back together and not have the proper parts.
1 Answer Karen B, Based on the model number provide the front support is a part of the front panel with the felt seals on it. Read More...
Brad January 22, 2019 for Model Number 417.98702891 The washing machine is noisy, it knocks when spinning. All parts seem to be functioning correctly but the noise seems to be coming from the rattling between the inner and outer tub. Is there a fix for that?
1 Answer Brad, what you will want to do is remove the inner basket from the tub assembly so that you can inspect for any loose nuts and to see if there is any debri in between the basket and outer tub. Read More...
Rhys March 11, 2018 for Model Number LEQ2152EE0 I replaced the nylon drum glides and both felt pieces in order to close the gap on my dryer that was periodically snagging towels. (A new drum bearing has already been installed. Upon startup, the drum ended up getting seized. After inspection, the friction from the felt melted the nylon and it eventually "glued" itself to the felt. I had to pry the drum off and now I need new felt and new nylon guides again...any idea why this happened??
1 Answer Rhys, It is odd that the felt seal melted but sounds likely that there may be an issue with the the drum not being fully seated into the bearing causing it to rub harder. Read More...
Buck January 05, 2018 for Model Number Frigidare Dryer The drum thumps when it turns even if nothing is in it. Could this have anything to do with the felt that it rides on being worn? We just replaced the main bearing and that stopped the squeak.
1 Answer Hello Buck, This could be a warp in the drum or a front or rear bearing issue. For a more detailed diagnosis, we would need you to please post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can look at the exact configuration of the model you have in your home and recommend parts that can be guaranteed to work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Kay September 06, 2017 for Model Number FDG437GHSO I bought an upper felt glide and a lower one. I glued the upper one into place, but the lower one doesn't quite reach all the way around to meet up with the upper one. Is it ok to have gaps between the upper and lower felt glides?
1 Answer Hello Kay. As long as the gap is not large, it should be fine. Usually they are about 1/8" apart on both sides. Read More...
Michael November 23, 2016 I have a Frigidaire gas dryer. nine months ago I replaced the upper and lower felt seal the upper seal has three plastic guides my first question is how long should I expect those guides to last? And my second question is i've been running the dryer with no heat for several months because I did not have the time to take it apart and realize that I had a bad igniter when I took it apart I noticed that the new felt gaskets have rust on them .is this a result of putting wet clothes in there and not achieving the proper temperature to have all of the moisture evaporate? Also where the drum comes in contact with the gasket all of the paint has been rubbed off it is now exposed metal is that also an issue ? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Michael. As far as lasting, it depends on load size and use. There is no way to estimate that. The rust stains are from no heat it sounds like. It is common for the paint to rub away from the metal where it touches the felt. Read More...
Don October 18, 2016 for Model Number Frigidaire dryer I've replaced the upper and lower felt glides and notice a 2 inch rough spot on the drum lip. Paint worn away in this spot but otherwise fine. Should I repaint this spot? With what type of paint?
1 Answer Don, The paint being chipped off will not hurt the function of the unit and unfortunately we do not have a paint that would be recommended for using on this. Read More...
Cball September 23, 2016 I ordered both the upper and lower felt and the lower is about 1/4" thinner, so there will be a step up where they meet?
1 Answer Hello Cball, Since the weight of the drum rides on the top felt, it is thicker to make up for the compression caused by normal operation. There is no problem with the differences in thicknesses of these two felt seals. Read More...
