Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Dryer Heater Element (Part Number: OEM13105968)

1 Answer

Swiper, with the power supply cord unplugged, the heating element 134792700 would need to be tested for continuity to ground as E63 indicates a grounded element or wire and E64 indicates a damaged element coil or wire. If there is continuity to ground when the wires are removed from the element, the element would need to be replaced.

Bailey Schuman for Model Number Electrolux

I have an Electrolux electric dryer. Got E64 code (dryer would still heat up), replaced heating element and worked great, within 2 months I get the same code. Replaced it again, worked great for a few weeks and now give me the same code. Does get really hot on the outside of unit near where heating element would be. What do I do? The element still heats up just stops cycle. I’m not appliance savvy so detailed info would help. Thank you!

Bailey, We will need to have the model number of your dryer to properly assist with your question. Please resubmit your question with the model number.

Kurtis, The most likely cause for this issue would be that either the thermostats are not allowing the heater to shut off or you have a stuck relay on the control board which would cause the heater to stay on and this will cause it to burn out.

Victor for Model Number Fase7073lwo

E64 code, Replaced heater, Unit Heats, and runs 2-5min and throws e64. Replaced thermistor thinking it was reading wrong and overheating and popping the thermal switch. Still e64 Bypassed thermal switch. Still 2-5min and e64. Watching the heater coils it seems they are energized the entire time until cutout and e64 (connections all good) I can keep resetting and it runs and heats every time. For a while, I could get almost through a 30m cycle On a reset. Is the controller misreading an open?

1 Answer

Victor, with the power cord unplugged, it would be recommended that the heating element wires are tested for continuity. If the wires all test good for continuity, then the failure would likely be in the main control 809160802 based on the information provided.
