Hello Randy. You will need to check and see what is binding up on the unit. Make sure the lid is not warped. If not, it sounds like it could be the hinges.

Hello Ron. The springs are always active. If the hinges are not holding the door up then it sounds like the door is too heavy for the hinges. It is possible that there is ice that has developed inside the door that may be causing the door to be to heavy for the hinges. You will want to pull the inner liner of the door and check for ice and if there is any then clear it out or let it thaw.

Jon, the manufacturer does not offer parts to the hinge assembly separately. You will need to order the hinge, part number 297313200. Thanks!

Hello Cranston. Mount the hinge 297313200 to the lid assembly, then place the lid on the unit in the open position and install the screws on the unit. Close the lid and adjust the hinge. Hope this helps.
