The Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ovens and ranges. It is responsible for igniting the gas to produce a flame for cooking or baking. The ignitor heats up to a high temperature and then ignites the gas, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of your appliance.

Over time, ignitors can wear out due to repeated heating cycles, exposure to moisture, or general aging. A failing ignitor may struggle to reach the necessary temperature, preventing the oven or range from igniting properly.

Symptoms of a bad ignitor include:

  • The oven not heating or taking an unusually long time to preheat
  • Weak or inconsistent burner flames
  • Clicking sounds without ignition of the burner
  • A visible crack or damage to the ignitor element

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Hello Greg, Check for 120Vac across the ignitor terminals while it is in the bake mode. If there is no voltage, you have a problem in the control 316557107 that sends the voltage to the ignitor. If voltage is there, the ignitor 5304534663 is probably open. The ignitor has to pull 3.2 to 3.6 amps of current to open the safety valve.

Hello Eddie! A way to verify that the ignitor is weak is to look at it, it should glow a bright white. A dull orangish color indicates that it is defective. You banging on the unit activates the ignitor. Try replacing that first. Your part number is 5304534663. Thanks!
