Melissa September 12, 2015 for Model Number PLGFMZ96ECC Hello My broiler and warmer drawer/small lower oven are working perfectly; however, the regular oven will not heat. When I turn it on, the ignitor gets a bit red and I can then smell gas so the safety valve seems to be working but the ignitor is not getting hot enough. If I'm looking at the diagram correctly, I need part #316489400, not #316489401. Correct? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Melissa. It looks like the part you need to order is 5304534663 for the igniter. Read More...

1 Answer Jan, the serial number is located on the same tag as the model number. It will be listed as SER, SERIAL, or SN- either beside or right below the model number. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bill August 18, 2014 for Model Number PLGFZ390ECB Everything on my oven works except for the oven part... the control panel, the broiler , stove top , warmer all work. The oven does not ignite or turn on.
1 Answer Hello Bill. Test for 3.0-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello Jim. If the igniter is glowing, and the gas is on, you will need to replace the igniter. It is weak. Read More...
Kenneth November 24, 2013 for Model Number PLGF390DCB Hi I've got a frigidaire oven model PLGF390DCB and when I replaced the igniter I accidentally pulled the wires out of the white plastic plug that goes into the stove (instead of splicing the igniter wires into the wires coming from the plug. I am able to put the wires into the old holes but cannot really secure them well and this is not the right solution. Do you know if I can buy one of those white plastic plugs, pre-wired so that I can splice those wires into my igniter wires? The other option would be to just buy another new igniter that already has the white plug wired right on to it but my igniter is new and I don't want to spend 90+ dollars on another. Any advice would be great.
1 Answer Kenneth, Unfortunately the only way to get the plug is to get another igniter. You could cut the wires and splice them together with ceramic wire nuts but the only other alternative is a new igniter. Read More...
Angela S August 29, 2013 for Model Number FGF316WFTG When I attempt to turn on burners (all 4), the clicking sound from the ignitor doesn't come on. You can smell the gas. I can light with match, but once turn off won't come on automatically.
1 Answer Angela, You will want to access the burner switches for continuity. If there is continuity then the most likely cause of failure then the spark module would be the issue. Read More...
Kay July 22, 2013 for Model Number fgf368gcd My stove top comes on as well as my broiler however my oven does not come on .. It says pre heateing but never heats and I dont smell gas unless I turn on the broiler. So how do I know if its my igniter or if its my regulator?
1 Answer Hello Kay. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Melissa T. November 17, 2012 for Model Number TGF351ESA The top range works great. The oven and broiler will not turn on. I think it might be the ignitor. I try to preheat the oven but it never gets hot. I also don't smell gas. It just stays on preheat. Also is the part number for the ignitor 316428500.
1 Answer Hello Melissa, You can test the ignitor by doing an amp draw on the ignitor. Ignitor should draw 2.9 amps to open the safety valve. If you do not have 2.9 on the amp draw then the ignitor 5304534663 would need to be replaced. If the ignitor checks out ok then you will need to replace the safety valve 316404900. Read More...
Sheila November 13, 2012 for Model Number GLGF3860DQ My stove top works my broiler works but the oven wont work. I turn it on can see orange glow and smell gas but it wont light. I am guessing by reading all other questions it might be ignitor, which one does this oven take? Thank you
