The Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ovens and ranges. It is responsible for igniting the gas to produce a flame for cooking or baking. The ignitor heats up to a high temperature and then ignites the gas, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of your appliance.

Over time, ignitors can wear out due to repeated heating cycles, exposure to moisture, or general aging. A failing ignitor may struggle to reach the necessary temperature, preventing the oven or range from igniting properly.

Symptoms of a bad ignitor include:

  • The oven not heating or taking an unusually long time to preheat
  • Weak or inconsistent burner flames
  • Clicking sounds without ignition of the burner
  • A visible crack or damage to the ignitor element

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Hello Jim. If the igniter is glowing, and the gas is on, you will need to replace the igniter. It is weak.

Kenneth for Model Number PLGF390DCB

Hi I've got a frigidaire oven model PLGF390DCB and when I replaced the igniter I accidentally pulled the wires out of the white plastic plug that goes into the stove (instead of splicing the igniter wires into the wires coming from the plug. I am able to put the wires into the old holes but cannot really secure them well and this is not the right solution. Do you know if I can buy one of those white plastic plugs, pre-wired so that I can splice those wires into my igniter wires? The other option would be to just buy another new igniter that already has the white plug wired right on to it but my igniter is new and I don't want to spend 90+ dollars on another. Any advice would be great.

Kenneth, Unfortunately the only way to get the plug is to get another igniter. You could cut the wires and splice them together with ceramic wire nuts but the only other alternative is a new igniter.

Angela, You will want to access the burner switches for continuity. If there is continuity then the most likely cause of failure then the spark module would be the issue.

Hello Melissa, You can test the ignitor by doing an amp draw on the ignitor. Ignitor should draw 2.9 amps to open the safety valve. If you do not have 2.9 on the amp draw then the ignitor 5304534663 would need to be replaced. If the ignitor checks out ok then you will need to replace the safety valve 316404900.
