You can heat it to make the old one come off easier, Once off, before attempting to apply the new part, clean the old adhesive material from the surface with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. Once all of the old adhesive is removed and the surface has completely dried, you can carefully stick the new part on being careful to apply it straight, since peeling the new part back off will destroy it.
