The Oven Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for Frigidaire ovens. It monitors and regulates the oven's temperature by sending accurate temperature readings to the control board. This ensures that the oven maintains the desired cooking temperature throughout the baking or roasting process.

Causes of a bad oven temperature sensor include exposure to high heat over extended periods, electrical issues, or physical damage to the sensor probe.

Symptoms of a bad oven temperature sensor include:

  • Incorrect oven temperatures
  • Overheating or underheating during use
  • Erratic temperature readings
  • The oven not reaching the set temperature

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Sandra, You will certainly want to test the temperature probe. It should have a resistance reading of 1090 ohms at room temp. If the sensor does not have the correct resistance then it will need to be replaced. If the resistance is good then the control board will be the most likely cause for this issue.

John, Even though the ignitor lights it could be weak and not pull enough amps to open the gas valve. You can test thru the igniter to the gas valve and look for 3.2 to 3.6 volts ac. If you have the correct voltage then change the gas valve. If different voltage then the igniter would need to be replaced.

George, You will want to check to make sure that the igniter is glowing. If it is glowing then test the gas valve for 3.2 to 3.6 vac when the oven is set to bake. If there is proper voltage then the issue will be a faulty oven gas valve.
