The Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges. It monitors and reports the temperature inside the oven cavity to ensure foods are cooked at the correct temperature. The sensor communicates temperature readings to the control board to regulate burner and heating element.

Causes of a bad temperature sensor can include faulty electronic elements, damage from oven spills or moisture intrusion, or sensors wearing out over extended use. At room temperature (70°F) the sensor should read around 1100 ohms. If your reading is 10% outside of that, the probe would need to be replaced.

Symptoms of a bad range temperature sensor include:

• Inaccurate or fluctuating oven temperatures 
• Inconsistent or uneven cooking results
• Food burning on one side of the oven or under/overcooking 
• The oven heating element running continuously without cycling
