Troy September 26, 2011 for Model Number Atf6000fs1 The 4 long screws for part number ap3900166 are stripped and seem as if they are not whole. Is it possible that part of the end of the scews still in back of washer? And if so how can I remove them so that I may buy the part and use the new screws? Thank you
1 Answer Hi Troy. Carefully examining the bolt threads , they are intentionally made so they are used only in the "plastic" receiver of some sort so it will hold extremely tight during shipping for instance. If you take your part # 134596200 and compare them with a blown up image, you will see the "shorter height" and the " taller height" of the bolt threads. This is normal. It is very unlikely that the bolt snapped in half in the back of the tub. Carefully look in the back of the tub with a flash light. If you do see the broken part then you can use a tiny high speed drill bit to drill the center so you can insert an "easy out" and back the piece out. Also you will need to use a center punch initially in the very center of the bolt for the drill to keep started while drilling initially. Thank you. Read More...
