Pam March 10, 2012 for Model Number frt18prhw0 I'm trying to replace the starter overload with a new one. How do I get the 2 wires out of old one? There is a red and white wire coming into it from the back of the refrigerator, probably from the fan blower plug. Any suggestions? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Pam. This is a very good question. If you look at the hole where the wire goes in, one side is slotted, (small squared off slot). With the refrigerator unplugged, insert a small screwdriver into the hole with the wire on the side that the hole is slotted. There is a very small locking tab on the side of the spade connector that, when you hit it just right, will unlock the spade and it will pull easily out. This might take a few minutes, but once you get one out and you can see it, you will fully understand. I hope this helped and have a great day! Read More...

1 Answer Hello Harris. The terminals have clips on them that needs to be released to remove the wires. You will need to use a small ice pick or a pick tool and press down the clips and pull the wires to release them from the starter/overload 5304491944. Hope this helps. Read More...
