David May 11, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore model # 2539284111 Trying to use Frigidaire 5304491944 for Kenmore freezer model # 2539284111. 1 Answer David, Based on the information provided we don't have a wiring diagram for this model, along with the OEM part being discontinued. Maybe you could use the wiring diagram on the unit or the tech sheet sent with the unit to locate the wiring information that you need. Read More...
Barry May 28, 2016 for Model Number MRT13CREW5 Overload relay #218721103 melted on my Kelvinator fridge. Bought part #5304491944 as advised to replace it. Everbody says read instructions and that tells you exactly what to do. NOT! The answers here say to put new plug in and the old red wire goes to L and old white wire goes to R, or something like that. Nowhere on any of the pieces in the kit I got does it have an L or an R. What now? Any other way to know which wires to splice together? Thanks.
1 Answer Barry, There is a post that sticks in the middle of the start relay. The terminals to connect the wires are just below this. Plug in the harness that was sent in the kit to the start relay and the wire that is closest to the center post will have the white wire spliced to it and the red wire will go to the other wire. Kb June 10, 2015 Hi I bought fridgedare starter kit number AP5691827 and the instructions that came with it say to match blue and red original wires to blue and red on the harness in the new kit. However in the kit both are white. There is a picture in the instructions that has two colors so I could use it to figure out which wire goes to which side of plug, but the pic is black and white. Is the darker wire in the pic red or blue - or is there another way to know? Thanks
1 Answer Hello KB. Plug the new plug into the relay and which ever wire is connected to N (blue) will connect to the white wire and the red will go to the L white wire. Read More...

Pam March 10, 2012 for Model Number frt18prhw0 I woke this morning to an electcial smell in my house it was coming from the fridg. Unpluged it for a while the pluged it back ang got a reg glow at the bottom where the motor sits. Can you tell me if its the starter overload the motor was still running and fridg was not cooling.
1 Answer Hi Pam. Yes, the starter relay part # 5304491944 is the part that needs immediat replacement. Keep in mind that the compressor windings may have been affected as well. Use the volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to see if the compressor windings are ohming out ok. Between the c" and s' there will be approx 6-12 0hms and between c' to r' there will be 4-6 ohms. Make sure each leg to compressor ground has not shorted (o-ohms) to ground. Thank You. Read More...
