The Water Valve is an OEM part for Frigidaire dishwashers. This valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher, ensuring the correct amount of water enters the tub during the wash cycle.

Causes of a bad water valve can include mineral buildup from hard water, electrical failures, or wear and tear from regular use that affects the valve's ability to open and close properly.

Symptoms of a bad water valve include:

  • The dishwasher not filling with water
  • Leaking water around the valve area
  • Inconsistent or insufficient water levels during cycles
  • Unusual noises when the valve is in operation

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

David, If you find the unit full of water when you have not used it then the water inlet valve is not sealing and would need to be replaced. 5304482406 If you are saying you actually turn off the water supply to the unit and it fills up then you have water from your sink backflowing to the unit because of a drain issue and you need to put an air gap in that drain line under the sink.

Robert, Make sure the float assembly is not stuck up with debris under it. This is the cone-shaped part that sits under the bottom rack and will stop water if it is raised. If that checks ok you will need to check for 120 vac at the valve itself when the unit should be filling. If the voltage is present change the valve if no voltage replace the control. Obviously, make sure no kinks in water inlet and your water is on.

Hello Larry. This dishwasher uses a pressure switch 5304470224 and a pressure hose 5304470223 for the water level. If the hose or switch are bad, you will need to replace them. If both are good, and the unit overfills, replace the valve 5304482406. Hope this helps.
