For Ge Range Infinite Switch 8 Inch (Part Number: OEM6072225)

Elit F. for Model Number Summit Professional Model No.TEM130-BKWY, Type No. 8U3-44

The two rear burners on my 20" Summit Professional electric stove stay at a low temp. when the dials are turned just below low, but then they go all the way to the highest temp. when the dials are turned to anything above the low setting. My electrician told me I need new infinite switches for these two 6" burners, but I can't find the ones for this make and model electric range. Please identify the correct switch model no. for me so I can order them. Thanks, Elit F.

Donna, Based on our information WB24T10025 / WB24T10025, 2500W, 8" infinite switch is the correct part needed for your repair. We also show that it is NOT a substitute part number, and should be a "straight across", wire for wire replacement part. We will send you some wiring information, That should help you determine which wire attaches to which terminal, and will get you up and going.

Reggie for Model Number JBP35C

I replaced the infinite switch (part number: WB24T10025) on my GE range stove, model no: JBP35C. Before putting the back-panel I wanted to test the stove to see if it is working. It worked fine but I noticed that there is some occasional spark inside the infinite switch. I also tested the other units that were working before and saw the occasional spark on those too inside the cavity of the infinite switch. The heating units are working fine and the heat is also under control and goes go high or low as the knob is turned. Wondering why there is spark inside this switch? Is it suppose to work like that? Or, there is some other problems with my stove? There were some oil and grease dripping from the exhaust fan but I cleaned where I could reach. The reason I needed to change the infinite switch in first place cause the heating unit was on high even when knob was on low setting. The old infinite switch I took out had some marks of burning inside. Will appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hello Reggie, The infinite switch uses a set of contacts inside the switch to control the temperature of the surface element. As the current goes through the bi-metal material, it will open the contacts and when it cools, it closes. This is normal operation and since it is the way it is designed to operate, there is nothing wrong with the unit and there is nothing to worry about.

Ron, First thing, check for spillage , grease, oil, etc. on the receptacle. . Also make sure the new element terminals are inserted into the receptacle as tightly and as deep as possible. And verify the correct parts were installed. Thanks

Shawn, Check the burner receptacle WB17T10006 for cracks and damage, look inside the openings and check the contacts for damage and arc marks. If you're replacing wire for wire, you should be fine. Good Luck
