The Blower Motor Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This part is responsible for driving the dishwasher's venting system, which plays a key role in the drying process of your dishes.

Over time, the Blower Motor Assembly may need replacement due to wear and tear, damage, or failure. A malfunctioning blower motor can lead to ineffective drying of dishes, increased cycle times, or the dishwasher failing to complete its drying cycle properly.

Symptoms of a bad Blower Motor Assembly include:

  • Dishes remaining damp or wet even after the drying cycle is complete.
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, indicating that the blower motor is struggling to operate.
  • The dishwasher stopping or pausing during the drying cycle.

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Andrew, testing the fan through diagnostics to identify if it turns on would be the testing procedure used. The vent does not extend all the way to the bottom of the door so feeling the air flowing can be difficult. As the fan is being heard, this identifies that it is receiving voltage. Inspecting for any blockages in the air flow can help identify where the problem could be.

Hello Peggy. It sounds like the dishwasher needs to be pulled out a little so it can vent and not hit the cabinets.

Rich, To access the vent blower you would need to remove the inner door panel of the unit. This will give access to the blower.

Hello O duran. The blower is located inside the dishwasher door. You will need to test the heater WD05X10010 and see if it is good. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good, you will need to test and see if the control board is sending power to the heater during the drying cycle. If not, you will need to replace the control board WD12X10353. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
