Mike May 12, 2013 for Model Number GSS25JSRESS My GE refrigerator/freezer has water on bottom freezer side. It leaks out onto my floor.
1 Answer Hello Mike, This can be a couple of different things. The first thing I would check is the defrost drain under the rear cover of the back wall in the freezer compartment. If it is frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw it out. Then chase it with a piece of weedeater line. It is flexible and stiff enough to fish the drain hose out without putting any holes in it. If this isn't the issue, check the ice maker for an overfill situation. In this case, the water line or ice maker can cause the issue, with the water valve being the more common cause of the issue. Foboos October 03, 2012 for Model Number GSS25KGMC WW I have disabled the door ice dispenser and now would like a regular flat-bottom ice bucket (without the auger). Mine is like the one on this page: Bucket, Ice Dispenser, Item Number: AP3140362 Manufacturer's Number: WR30X10016 Made by GE
1 Answer Hello Foboos! The manufacturer does not offer a single/flat ice tray for your unit. Here is a listing of ice buckets on our web site you can view to verify if one may fit your product. Each part pictured has a back drop with squares measuring 1". Hope this helps you, thanks. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/?keyword=ice+bucket Read More...
Tamera M. June 15, 2012 for Model Number HSS251FMD WW The auger has broken the front of the ice bucket chute. I need a new bucket which is available separately, however the unit I have appears to be a sealed unit and I can not figure out how to disassemble the parts so that I can replace only the bucket. Can you help? Do I need to order the entire unit?
1 Answer Hi Tamera. Ice Crusher The ice crusher uses a deflector. When the deflector is UP (“Crushed Ice” is selected on the dispenser control panel), the ice crusher operates. When the deflector panel is DOWN (“Cubed Ice” is selected on the dispenser control panel), the deflector is normally up. 1. Remove the ice dispenser tray and assembly (see page 21). 2. Remove 2 Phillips screws from the ice dispenser cover bottom. 3. Turn over the ice bucket and ice dispenser cover. Remove the Phillips screw. 4. Remove the cover. 5. Remove the Phillips screw for the ice cube control linkage and slide the linkage to the rear of the ice bucket.6. Using a pair of pliers, break the tabs off the back cover. 7. Using 2 flat blade screwdrivers, disengage the locking tabs at either side of the ice crusher (front top) and remove the assembly.8. Slide the back cover off the auger. The back cover must be replaced because of tabs broken off for disassembly. 9. With a flat-head screwdriver, remove the C-clip from the end of the auger. 10. Remove the auger and ice crusher blade assembly. Thank You. Read More...

Tommy A. June 07, 2011 for Model Number GSL25JFTABS My ice maker keeps freezing over. In the course of 24 hours, I suspect the freezer goes into a de-frost cycle which lasts a lttle to long, causing the ice to actually melt. What I am left with is a large chunk of ice in the ice maker, but it is so stuck together (thaw and then re-freeze action) the auger cannot/will not work. The only thing I can do is break the ice out and start over again --- but the next morning I have the same problem. I suspect either a temperature sensor problem, a defrost heater problem, or a motherboard issue. What say you???? Many thanks!
1 Answer Hello Tommy. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the unit is sticking in defrost. You will need to replace the main board WR55X10942C to repair the problem. Hope this helps. Read More...
