Hello Mike, This can be a couple of different things. The first thing I would check is the defrost drain under the rear cover of the back wall in the freezer compartment. If it is frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw it out. Then chase it with a piece of weedeater line. It is flexible and stiff enough to fish the drain hose out without putting any holes in it. If this isn't the issue, check the ice maker for an overfill situation. In this case, the water line or ice maker can cause the issue, with the water valve being the more common cause of the issue.

Hi Tamera. Ice Crusher The ice crusher uses a deflector. When the deflector is UP (“Crushed Ice” is selected on the dispenser control panel), the ice crusher operates. When the deflector panel is DOWN (“Cubed Ice” is selected on the dispenser control panel), the deflector is normally up. 1. Remove the ice dispenser tray and assembly (see page 21). 2. Remove 2 Phillips screws from the ice dispenser cover bottom. 3. Turn over the ice bucket and ice dispenser cover. Remove the Phillips screw. 4. Remove the cover. 5. Remove the Phillips screw for the ice cube control linkage and slide the linkage to the rear of the ice bucket.6. Using a pair of pliers, break the tabs off the back cover. 7. Using 2 flat blade screwdrivers, disengage the locking tabs at either side of the ice crusher (front top) and remove the assembly.8. Slide the back cover off the auger. The back cover must be replaced because of tabs broken off for disassembly. 9. With a flat-head screwdriver, remove the C-clip from the end of the auger. 10. Remove the auger and ice crusher blade assembly. Thank You.

Tommy A. for Model Number GSL25JFTABS

My ice maker keeps freezing over. In the course of 24 hours, I suspect the freezer goes into a de-frost cycle which lasts a lttle to long, causing the ice to actually melt. What I am left with is a large chunk of ice in the ice maker, but it is so stuck together (thaw and then re-freeze action) the auger cannot/will not work. The only thing I can do is break the ice out and start over again --- but the next morning I have the same problem. I suspect either a temperature sensor problem, a defrost heater problem, or a motherboard issue. What say you???? Many thanks!

Hello Tommy. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the unit is sticking in defrost. You will need to replace the main board WR55X10942C to repair the problem. Hope this helps.
