John July 29, 2013 for Model Number JE 1590sh02 My GE microwave, almost 6 years old is starting to die. Hard to start and if warm only makes a buzzing noise and will not start up. When it does run there is a noticeable variation in operating speed, normal then slower then back up to normal. Also, when using a microwave popcorn dish started to arc on us. Any ideas? Thanks, John
1 Answer Hello John. It sounds like the transformer WB27X10795 will need to be replaced in the unit. It sounds like it is failing. If you replace it and still have a heating issue, then the magnetron WB26X32629 will need to be replaced as well. Read More...
Kenny July 22, 2011 for Model Number JVM1630WJ My microwave is sparking at the high volt capacitor (AP 2026136). Will replacement of this fix my problem?
1 Answer Hi Kenny. If your wire connectors at the capacitor were damaged they need replaced. Then it all depends on what made the capacitor blow in the high voltage circuit. The Magnetron will open or short out, this part # WB26X32629. The Capacitor is part # WB27X10233. The diode is next in the high voltage circuit part # WB27X10037. All of these parts need replaced at one time, being as they are on the high voltage circuit. Thank you. Read More...
1 Answer Hello. You will need a meter with the capacitor testing feature. If the microwave has quit heating, it's most likely the magnetron, diode, or H.V. transformer. Hope this helps. Read More...
