Maha June 05, 2011 for Model Number TFX22PRXDWW I got the part defrost heater. How do I test the old one and make sure that is not defective? I already installed a new timer control.
1 Answer Hello Maha. You can test the heater for continuity. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. 1 Answer Hello Will. The defrost timer is located behind the cover in the back of the refirgerator side. You can advance the timer until the unit shuts off. Once this is done, the heater should come on. If the heater does not come on, you will need to test the heater and thermostat and see if they are reading closed for continuity. Hope this helps.
