This high-voltage rectifier diode is used in the microwave's high-voltage circuit. It converts AC to DC so the magnetron can produce heat. A failed diode can cause no heat, loud humming, or a blown fuse when starting. What it does:

Rectifies high-voltage AC to DC to power the magnetron
Blocks reverse voltage in the HV circuit
Common failure symptoms can include: runs but doesn't heat; loud hum then shutdown; line fuse blows at startup

Install notes:

Unplug the microwave and properly discharge the high-voltage capacitor before servicing—dangerous voltage can remain even when unplugged
Match diode orientation/polarity to the original and ensure a solid chassis ground connection where used
Route leads and reinstall any clamps/insulators exactly as found; keep wiring clear of sharp edges and hot components
If the original diode failed, inspect the HV capacitor and transformer for related issues before reassembly

Where does the power diode go?

Hello Rocky. The diode WB27X1160 is attached to the capacitor and the frame of the unit.

Hello Avtar. The manufacture does not offer the voltage, but says to test the magnetron WB27X10735, it should read less than 1 ohm. Hope this helps.

How many ohms resistance of high voltage diode.

Hello Avtar. The manufacture does not provide the ohms, but says the diode should only read in one direction if it is good. If it reads both ways, then the diode WB27X1160 is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. What is the proper resistance across this diode?

Hello Bob. To test the diode WB27X1160, it should only read in one direction. If it reads both ways (reversing the leads on the meter) then it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
