I am replacing the detergent dispenser and can't remember how to plug the new one in...there is a white and black plug. Was it the white plug on the inside and the black on the outside?

Hello Barbara. No, it is not hard to replace the dispenser in the unit.

Do I need to remove entire inside of door to replace detergent dispenser?

Barbara, Yes, in order to replace the detergent dispenser WD12X10174, you will need to remove the screws holding the inner liner in place and lift the liner up. There will be a bracket that holds the dispenser in place and once removed you will be able to remove the dispenser assembly.
