Andy December 15, 2014 for Model Number PDWT480V00SS Hello, the pulley cable hook end on the left side of my dishwasher has sheared off so it no longer connects with the door hinge to provide tension. My question is, do I need to remove the dishwasher from its location so that I can change out the pulley cable. It looks like it will be difficult to change it with the dishwasher in place. If so, how do I remove the dishwasher so that I can access the pulley, cable and spring. If not, how would you suggest I replace the pulley cable? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
1 Answer Andy, You would need to remove the unit from installation in order to change the cable. To do so you would need to remove the kick panel, open the door and remove the 2 screws that mount to the cabinet and the unit will be able to be slid out. You may have to adjust the legs depending on how it was installed. Read More...
William M May 27, 2014 for Model Number ge profile pdw9000 My hinge cable broke on my GE profile dishwasher (the plastic clip end) Your part #AP4368163 appears to be the correct replacement for the GEWD01X10393. However, I cannot get the old cable out as the metal ends are too big to go under the pulley. Can you tell me how to get the old cable out and the new one in?
1 Answer William, To remove the cable you would just unwrap the cable from the pulley. If it will not come out then the removal of the pulley wheel will be necessary to replace. Read More...
