The Dryer Front Bearing Drum Slide (White, 2-Pack) is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. These slides are located on the front panel of the dryer and work to support the drum as it rotates. The white slides are designed to reduce friction between the drum and the panel, ensuring smooth operation and helping to prolong the life of the appliance.

Over time, these slides can wear out due to constant movement, heat, and friction. When worn or damaged, the drum may not rotate as intended, leading to noise and reduced efficiency.

Symptoms of bad dryer front bearing drum slides include:

  • Squeaking or grinding noises during operation
  • The drum appearing loose or sagging at the front
  • Clothes not drying evenly or taking longer to dry
  • Visible wear or thinning on the existing drum slides

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Mary, The bearing slides would have nothing to do with the unit starting up. You would want to test the door switch, the belt switch, and the push to start button for continuity. If they are good then the issue will be the motor.
