Jessi January 29, 2019 Is this lint trap supposed to have a cover on the top? I have this in my stackable and was sure that the top had been lost as there's always lint everywhere when I open my dryer but it doesn't look like a top piece comes with this?
1 Answer Hello Jessi, The dryer lint filter does not have a cover. If there is lint everywhere inside the dryer it is an indication of a restricted exhaust duct from the back of the dryer to outside. If there is a restriction in this ducting it will cause the heat, lint, and moisture to blow past the drum seals into the cabinet where it is recirculated back across the clothes. This will also extend the dry time since the moisture is recirculated back through the clothes. Read More...
