This convection fan assembly circulates heated air inside the oven cavity for more even baking and roasting. Replacing a worn or noisy fan restores proper airflow and helps maintain stable temperatures during convection cooking.

  • Moves hot air across the cavity during convection modes for uniform results
  • Helps the oven recover heat faster and reduces hot/cold spots
  • Common symptoms of failure: loud humming, squealing, or rattling; fan not spinning; poor or uneven convection performance
  • Can cause longer cook times or inconsistent browning when not working properly
What's included: 1 convection fan assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the appliance to cool completely
  • Access the convection fan from the rear panel or interior back cover, depending on model; retain all screws and shielding
  • Note wire locations and mounting orientation; install the new assembly in the same position
  • Before restoring power, ensure the blade spins freely and does not contact the shroud or liner

Hello Brian, yes will have to replace the cooling fan, if it slows down enough there will be a heat build up in the control section and oven heating will be turned off. The cool fan part is WB26K5061.

Jeffrey, The F7 error code would be caused by a stuck keypad. If there is moisture getting to the control panel this this could certainly cause this issue. You will want to check to make sure that the fan is operating when on and if it is ok then the issue will be that the membrane switch would need to be replaced.

Hi - I order this replacement fan. I could see my old fan was binding and not turning, thus overheating the oven and giving the F9 and Locked Door codes. When I removed the old fan, they look identical in construction. However, the new fan has two electrical terminals with no wires while the old fan has a built in wiring harness that attaches in one place and can't be removed. Is there a replacement harness? If not I guess I can cut the old one off but not sure what terminal to attach what wire too. Thanks

John, It appears that the fan motor that you received is not the one for your unit. The part number for your fan with the hanress would be WB26T10018.

Josh, although the WB26K5061 is a "common" fan assembly, and used in the majority of the JTP18A wall ovens, there are a few units that use a different cooling fan assembly. Your wall oven does use the WB26K5061 and that's the one you need to replace/install.

Ethan for Model Number JT965SK4SS

Hello, Like many other people asking questions on this model, my cooling fan is very noisy. I have had a repairman replace it already and it is still noisy. I have a friend with the JTP90S model and it is very quiet during and after running. Can I replace my cooling fan with the cooling fan for this model (AP2024950) or do I need the original fan (AP2024761)? I am afraid replacing it again will just have the same problem. Has anybody actually replaced theirs and reduced the noise from the fan? Are there any other options? Can I simply disconnect the cooling fan?

1 Answer

Hello Ethan. Sorry, you must use the one the manufacturer recommends for you model. You can not disconnect the fan on the unit.

Johnny B for Model Number GE JT952-30" Double Wall Oven

I am looking for some suggestion on how to repair the subject oven. The top oven will no longer heat in the Convection mode. It will heat in the other modes. The fan runs in convection mode and it cycles on and off, but the temp reading never increases above the default 100 reading. The issue started after an incident while using the oven. After the oven had heated and been in use for about 10 minutes, there was a very bright, red glow inside the fan housing cover at the back of the oven that lasted for a few seconds. That was the last time it has worked. Is this potentially repairable and can I get the appropriate parts from your website?

1 Answer

Johnny, Based on the information the issue sounds like it would be caused by a faulty relay on the control board. In this case the Control board would need to be replaced.
