Jeffrey for Model Number JVM1540DM5BB

Please help, see the conversation below, and see if you can help me out: April: Hello Jeffrey. Jeffrey: You can call me March Jeffrey: hi Jeffrey: I am looking for a Charcoal Filter April: May I have the complete model and serial numbers? They will be located together on the appliance itself. I will need these numbers to look up your parts information. Jeffrey: for Model # JVM1540DM5BB Jeffrey: Serial Number # VZ 205541 L April: Thank you. Jeffrey: GE Above the Cooktop Stove is what I have April: CLICK HERE April: If you are ready to check out, I will be happy to place the order for you. Our Live Chat system is McAfee and VeriSign Secure, and any information you type here, including credit card information, is protected. Jeffrey: i could not find anything on the website Jeffrey: very confusing April: I apologize. Jeffrey: In the Owner's manual on page 35 it said the filter must be replaced with Part # WBo2X10776 Jeffrey: ANd on Page 9 it said Charcoal Filter Kitn JX81C Jeffrey: neither of these is correct Jeffrey: don't understand April: WB02X11495 is the one in your parts list. Jeffrey: ON the Microwave itself it says insert Charcoal Filter here, and the opening to insert the filter is roughly 5"x2.75" Jeffrey: let me check that April: By your model number. The manuals are usually for several different models. Jeffrey: I know that's why its confusing April: There's no picture on the website. Jeffrey: What is that size of the filter part number you just gave me April: About 5" Tall and 8" wide. Jeffrey: that's what I don't understand Jeffrey: the area on the microwave itself is only around 5x2.75 April: Same with WB02X10776. Jeffrey: right where it says filter goes here, I measured it April: Unless you put it in sideways. Jeffrey: not a true measurement but its close Jeffrey: so there is no way a filter 8" wide is going to fit Jeffrey: Well, the grill of the filter should be facing towards me, right? April: So all 3 of these part numbers are the same size. Are you sure it's not the grease filter? Jeffrey: so I really can't turn it sideways Jeffrey: positive April: Charcoal filter would be for ventilation if your microwave is not vented outside so it could go in sideways. Jeffrey: its a charcoal filter that goes behind the plastic grill April: The charcoal filter goes behind the grille and filters the air coming through the unit. There is a slot behind the grille to install the filter into. Jeffrey: if if it went sideways, which it can't, the height is only around 2.75" Jeffrey: yes, I am replacing an older microwave, and it works the same way Jeffrey: except on this new one, the area for the charcoal filter is smaller April: I can send you link to ask a question to one of our techs, they will respond to you via email within 24-48 hours. I'm showing any of these will work for the model number provided. Jeffrey: no you know why i am so confused April: Yes, I understand. Jeffrey: okay April: Maybe they will have some insight since they are in the field handling installation of these daily. Jeffrey: i'm telling you what i see on the microwave itself April: CLICK HERE then click Ask A Question button at top of page Jeffrey: Should I reference this conversation April: You can, that would be fine.
